Every year the retail shops start their Christmas sales early. Every year the Christmas songs start soon after Halloween. Every year.... someone complains about it. Not me. This is wonderful to me. Most people think that the best time to start doing Christmas is right after Thanksgiving. The next day if possible. Here's how I see it...
It's too awfully cold come the Friday after Thanksgiving to put up my Christmas lights. The best time to do this, October. Maybe on a nice and sunny day, but at least get them up early. Putting it all up and out the day after Thanksgiving does not give me time with my tree, my decorations, and the Christmas Spirit. That spirit needs time to move around, spread joy, get happy, all those kinds of things. Getting started early helps in that.
A lot of people say that they think we are "shoving" Thanksgiving to the side, and this is not the case. We aren't doing that at all. I just want my Christmas up on Thanksgiving and I don't see any problem in that. I just want the movies playing, songs going, and snow to start falling! Yes, I said SNOW!!! I'm so excited for the first snowfall! I can't wait! I'll have a blast with my girls rolling it up and throwing it. We'll roll down hills on it, and slip and fall on our biscuits sometimes too. It's the best!
Here's a sneak peak and what my home is looking like on this Second day of December! :)
